DeskNeko: Privacy Policy

Overview

DeskNeko does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. Everything the app stores stays entirely on your device. This policy explains exactly what that means in practice.

Data Collection

DeskNeko collects no data. There are no accounts, no sign-ins, no analytics SDKs, and no network requests made by the app.

• Local Preferences: Settings such as your cat's name, colour, size, and stat values are stored locally on your Mac using standard system storage (UserDefaults). This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us or any third party.
• No Network Access: DeskNeko makes no network requests. It has no internet connectivity and cannot transmit any information.
• Apple Anonymized Metrics: Apple may collect anonymized, non-identifiable crash reports and usage trends through their standard platform diagnostics — only if you have opted in to sharing analytics with app developers in your macOS system settings. This data is provided to us in aggregate form only and cannot be used to identify individual users. For details, see Apple's Privacy Policy.

Data Storage

All app data (your cat's name, appearance settings, stat levels, and preferences) is stored locally on your Mac only. Uninstalling DeskNeko removes this data from your device.

Third-Party Services

DeskNeko does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or data services. The only external service involved is Apple's optional platform diagnostics described above.

Children's Privacy

Because DeskNeko collects no data from anyone, it is safe for all ages.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this policy if the app changes in a way that affects data handling. Any significant changes will be reflected with an updated effective date above.
